An Egyptian-American AI scientist and entrepreneur turned investor, Rana el Kaliouby is on a mission to humanize technology before it dehumanizes us. She is co-founder and Managing Partner of Blue Tulip Ventures, an early-stage venture firm investing in AI that unlocks human potential. Previously, she co-founded Affectiva, an MIT spin-out, until its acquisition by Smart Eye in 2021. She hosts Pioneers of AI, a WaitWhat production, and is the author of Girl Decoded (Penguin Random House, 2020). An executive fellow at Harvard Business School and Fortune 40 Under 40 honoree, Rana holds a Ph.D. from Cambridge and a Post Doctorate from MIT.
