MeeLan Lee is cofounder and VP of Engineering at Unconventional AI, where she leads novel hardware research to unlock biology-scale efficiency for AI. She earned B.S. and M.Eng. degrees from MIT and is drawn to the start of technology paradigm shifts. She cofounded her first startup in chiplets before the technology became mainstream in AI hardware. At Google in 2018, she explored unconventional neural-network designs as AI shifted toward Transformer-based models. She led Atheros’s highest-volume and highest-revenue WiFi chip before delivering Qualcomm’s first >1Gbps flagship product. Today, she brings research and product experience to rethinking AI computing for 1000x energy efficiency.
